Time To Focus
My name is Inti.
I inherited two key passions from my father: music and photography. He was a broadcast DJ as a young man; I began DJing parties and weddings in middle school. He was also an amateur photographer. I think you can tell where I am going with this.
After high school I opted to pursue a career in music as a DJ and I put the camera down. After a couple of decades of long and loud nights rocking weddings, corporate, and night club gigs, I stepped away from the DJ world and started a family. There is also a writing career in there somewhere, but we’ll leave that for the blog.
Throughout the years, even after my dad’s camera had ceased to work and I was using disposable and eventually digital handheld point and shoots, I always thought of myself as an amateur photographer. I always approached the practice with an air of seriousness and respect. With DJing now firmly in my rear-view mirror, I began to feel a strong urge to reconnect with photography, but this time in a deeper way.
In 2016, I moved to Pennsylvania with my wife to raise our three kids. Soon after, as if it was meant to be, I came across a great offer for a Nikon D7000 with all the works and I simply could not pass up the chance.
I admit, I found it intimidating and more than a bit challenging at first, so much so I almost gave up out of frustration. In 2021 opportunity met confidence sparking inspiration (that will also be featured in the blog).
These days you will find me with a camera in hand exploring the streets of my newly adopted state, up and down the East coast, and of course the streets of New York which I frequent often. Next stop, the world.
My photography style is influenced by many things, but most of all by my love of music. I like to capture the rhythm, harmony, and emotion of my subjects, whether they are people, places, or things. I use light, color, and composition to create images that tell stories and evoke feelings.
Please browse my gallery. Let me know what you think or if you are interested in collaborating, please do not hesitate to reach out!
I hope you'll join me as I grow as a photographer.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better.
